Certify
Dynamic certificate generation and validation
A configurable, multi-tenant platform where organisations generate their own certificates and verify issued ones through a validation portal.
- Role: Feature owner
- Organisation: Pexus Tech
- Domain: Credentialing · multi-tenant SaaS
- Scope of involvement: Feature ownership (owned features, enhancements and change requests)
- Scale: 5+ tenants
In numbers
- 5+: tenants on the platform
Overview
Certify lets organisations create customised certificates from configurable templates and generate them dynamically. Issued certificates can then be verified through a dedicated validation portal to confirm they are authentic. The platform is used across 5+ tenants.
Product challenge
Every organisation wants certificates that look and read like its own, yet every certificate still has to be generated reliably and remain verifiable afterwards. The product has to balance tenant-level customisation with one consistent generation and validation flow.
My role
Feature ownership. I owned and delivered multiple features within the platform rather than the product as a whole.
- Owned and delivered multiple product features.
- Worked on enhancements and requirements supporting different tenant needs.
- Contributed to the evolution of the configurable generation and validation platform.
- Managed product requirements and coordinated feature delivery across the development lifecycle.
Key features
The platform's three capability areas, which the features I owned and enhanced sit within:
- Customise: certificate templates configured to each organisation's requirements.
- Generate: certificates produced dynamically from those templates.
- Verify: a validation portal that confirms an issued certificate is authentic.
Product thinking
- Configurability: deciding what a tenant can customise in a template and what stays fixed so generation behaves consistently.
- Tenant requirements: gathering needs from different organisations and folding them into one platform instead of one-off builds.
- One lifecycle: a certificate is only useful if it can be verified later, so generation and validation are treated as one flow.
Outcome
A configurable certificate platform in use across 5+ tenants: organisations generate certificates to their own templates, and issued certificates can be checked for authenticity through the validation portal.
